Online Management Tools, Software and Platforms
Managing supply-chain risk assessment/assurance projects can often be complicated and time consuming. In addition, they pose considerable coordination problems for project managers. Supply-chain risk assessment projects are challenging to set up and difficult to administer, especially when supplier numbers are high. Collecting, processing and reporting data generated can become a major task.
Furthermore, if administered using conventional paper-based processes, post-assessment improvement programs and ongoing oversight are very difficult to manage in a systematic way.
The development of a cloud-based solution that rapidly connects critical actors, streamlines business and administrative processes and automates data processing and reporting has the capacity of turning what is now considered by many businesses as a ‘special project’ into a core, ongoing business risk management function.
This year, working with our strategic partner, sustainability software and assurance systems specialists Branded Trust, we launched a new business offering: a software solutions division dedicated to online tools for managing corporate responsibility and supply chain programmes. These tools can be accessed by organisations of any size and by their down-, mid- or up-stream partners.
In July 2017, we rolled out a fully cloud-based self-assessment and due diligence tool with the Responsible Business Alliance for their Conflict-Free Sourcing Initiative (CFSI) and the Responsible Raw Materials Initiative (RMI) members. Learn more about the Risk Readiness Assessment (RRA) here.
2018 will also see the launch of a one-stop online resource centre to fully equip jewellery industry businesses with the tools to effectively screen their supply chains and test their compliance against international Best Practice standards. The platform will provide businesses with a pragmatic approach to continual improvement, supported by topical webinars and e-learning opportunities as well as up-to-date information on potential ethical issues and how they can be addressed.
