TDI’s intern, Tineke, has spent much of the last 2 months working with the Impact Facility, a global grant and investment vehicle established and managed by TDI with support from Fairtrade Foundation and local implementation partners. The Impact Facility exists to enable downstream supply-chain businesses, social-development foundations, and impact investors to participate in the development of high impact raw material value chains and the economic empowerment of mining communities.
To facilitate her provision of invaluable support on the creation and development of ESG criteria for the Facility’s partner mines, Tineke spent a month in Uganda, working closely with our Artisanal and Small-scale Mining (ASM) projects there. To read an account of her experiences in Uganda, please read her blog post here.
Thank you Tineke!
